| Chinese inspired "bamboo" chairs have been chic since the 1770's. Lord Botetourt, Royal Governor of Virginia from 1768-70, had a suite of "green bamboo chairs" in bedchambers at the Governor's Palace in Williamsburg, Virginia. This style was popularized by furniture designer Thomas Chippendale, and is still often called " Chinese Chippendale" Presented in a rustic sandblasted wood with a black stain and distressed. The seat has a gentle curving line. | ||||||
