About Us

Cathy Arkley is drawn to interior design that is sophisticated, colorful, eclectic, and often ahead of the trends.

It all started with a fortuitous visit to the Lemmon Hill Plantation in the low country of Fairfield County, South Carolina. Before the revolutionary war, the French Huguenots settled here and brought with them their exquisite design aesthetic - elegant, refined living through architectural craftsmanship and brilliant color.

Cathy was so inspired by her trip in 2009, that she opened Lemmon Hill in San Marino just three months later. She says, "Lemmon Hill, a 1750's plantation outside of Columbia, South Carolina, motivated me to create a slice of southern hospitality and grace in elegant and refined living spaces."

Lemmonhill.com was launched in March of 2013 to bring this unique sense of style to a worldwide audience.

Cathy holds a degree from American University in Washington D.C. and has served on the boards of Hillside Home for children, Inner City Arts The Sheila Kar Health Foundation, Children's Burn Foundation. She's a mentor to "at-risk" homeless women, and a member of "PAT" - the pet assisted therapy program at Huntington Hospital. She is also a supporter of the Pasadena Humane Society.
